	Surveys & Assessments RIS undertakes extensive surveys and inspections, and then recommends measures to remediate any apparent defects observed. Rig Acceptance & Safety Surveys Testing of equipment including the protective safety devices and safety systems Reviewing of certification, ensuring conformance on critical well control and drilling equipment Reviewing of NDT reports and lifting databases Reviewing of maintenance on critical equipment Evaluating the condition of selected equipment Reviewing of past audits and updates on status of action items The scope of these surveys is tailored towards our clients requirements and these surveys also provide assurance that the rig's equipment is fit for purpose. Rig Condition Surveys This is a comprehensive reliability assessment of the following: Drilling equipment Electrical generation & distribution Cranes & Hoisting Systems Main & Auxiliary equipment Mud systems Well control equipment Marine and Safety equipment Maintenance task compliancy Asset management and budget planning Relevant standards such as the API, IADC and OEM specifications are referenced; this also includes evaluation of equipment and systems, recording of all parameters and technical data on equipment condition evaluation datasheets. Pre-Shipyard Evaluation Surveys Pre-shipyard evaluations are carried out to assist asset owner(s) in determining their exact requirements for shipyard or out-of-service periods. Such evaluations comprise of the following: Pre-dry dock inspections for a definitive shipyard work scope Compiling of accurate project work scope based upon allocated timeline and budget Long term planning for asset management Forecasting for long lead time equipment and parts Commissioning & Project Engineering Commissioning of new build or upgrades of all types onshore and offshore drilling rigs Endurance and Performance testing of equipment Supervising or assisting in project engineering support RIS has completed several successful projects for MODUs that are now operating under a safety case regime in Australian waters. Equipment Condition Evaluation Analysing and verifying of internal clearances, rotating equipment parameters and machinery alignment Prioritising of unit/equipment for overhaul All recommendations made during such an evaluation are based on O.E.M specifications and standards. Technical data on equipment condition is recorded on evaluation datasheets. Subsea & Surface Well Control Equipment This services includes the examination and analysis of critical well control equipment as well as identifying, assessing and developing control measures to mitigate the risks of hazardous situations and business interruptions. The following are covered during such an assessment: 1st to 6th Generation well control systems Hydraulic and Mux control systems Wireline/Inline tensioning and RAR systems Compensating systems – CMC, AHC & DSC Marine Riser Inspection and verification Choke and Kill Systems QA Services & Project Coordination Validation services Verification services Coordination of shipyard or out of service periods for onshore and offshore installations. RIS has represented Drilling Contractors for Validation of Vessel Safety Case as well as for verification of corrective action on improvement notices. We provide a comprehensive report package including data sheets for the equipment inspected. We believe document control is essential when dealing with raw data and information from surveys and inspections in order to maintain a high level of accuracy and detail. We use a customized software package known as Rig Survey Manager (RSM), which efficiently compiles all of the surveyors’ input to create, edit and produce reports within the shortest amount of time. This allows clients to keep permanent records on the status of equipment for future benchmarking and trend analysis purposes. This also ensures that clients receive reports in the shortest possible time after inspection, and also that the standard of our reports is of the highest quality.
